New York, NY (January 27, 2010) - Atari, Inc., one of the world's most recognized videogame publishers, and Syfy, the broadcast leader in imagination-based entertainment, have announced an exclusive partnership promoting the highly anticipated massively multiplayer online game (MMO), Star Trek Online, releasing for the PC on February 2, 2010.

Dear fellow fan of Star Trek,
I'm writing to you today, not as one who writes for Roddenberry.com, not as an officer in any Star Trek club, but simply as you, a person who lives on this planet. We have all witnessed the incredible carnage in Haiti and the desperate needs of the people there. I'm sure your heart has been touched as all of ours have.
Today, I want to present to you an unique opportunity. Rod Roddenberry has items that belonged to his parents that he is willing to sell to the highest bidder in a special auction. These are all items that he wants to give a good home to with people who are fans. The items can be viewed in this Facebook photo album:
To get a better look at the item, all you have to do is click on the picture. If you wish to bid, leave a comment at the bottom of the page. The highest bidder at the end of the auction will get the item and will be contacted by Rod with instructions on how to pay and to get shipping instructions. The auction is scheduled to end at 11:59pm PST on January 29th, but this deadline maybe changed without notice and Rod will be adding items during the week, so check back often.
Rod is going to match the sales dollar for dollar so your money will do double what would normally. I think you can see that this is a very unique chance for Trek fans. This is also a chance for us all to once again, stand together facing this need of our fellow man and respond together saying, Let Us Help.
The monies will be going to Haitiheroes.com which is a charity founded by Heroes star Jimmy Jean-Louis (he plays the Haitian character on the show and is from Haiti) who has advised Rod that 100% of the money will go aid the people there. Please consider bidding in this auction.
